What was the problem?

The team was split across Barcelona, Dubai, and London, which made it hard to build trust, informal relationships, and a shared identity beyond day-to-day remote work.

What did I do?

I took ownership of organizing an in-person team-building event, coordinating travel and logistics so teammates from all three locations could spend focused time together in the same place.

How did I do it?

  1. I identified a time window that worked across time zones and project commitments, and aligned with leadership on budget and expectations.
  2. I coordinated with teammates and operations to arrange travel, accommodation, and a workspace where everyone could collaborate in person.
  3. I planned a mix of structured sessions (workshops, discussions) and informal activities to encourage connection, shared context, and open conversation.

What did I achieve?

The offsite strengthened relationships and improved communication across locations, leading to smoother collaboration and faster decision-making once everyone returned to remote work.
